The Town of Whitestown Town Manager Katie Barr welcomed community members to the town council meeting Wednesday night, Feb. 12 to welcome a new Director of Public Works, discuss a trail expansion and have community members lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

During the town council meeting, Barr swore-in Jason Forsythe as the new Director of Public Works for the town. Forsythe served as the Frankfort Street Department Superintendent for numerous years before announcing his resignation earlier this year to assume the new role.
“We’re thrilled to have Jason on board,” Barr said. “His leadership and expertise will help strengthen our public works department and continue to improve town infrastructure.”
The town also officially passed the plan for the Main Street Trail expansion with a vote of 5 to 0 to continue providing amenities to the community.
Whitestown also saw members of the Boys and Girls Club lead the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance to showcase their involvement within the community.
The town invited local youth civic groups and community members to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a town council meeting in the future to spread the Whitestown pride. Community members and organizations may express their interest in leading the Pledge of Allegiance at whitestown.in.gov/pledge-of-allegiance.
Those in attendance were also asked to partake in a moment of silence for the recent aviation accident to pay respect to those who were lost.
