William E. Heidt

William E. Heidt, 78, of rural Kirklin, Ind., died November 1, 2020 at his home.  He was born July 3, 1942 in Indianapolis, Ind. to Lewis LeRoy & Julia Helen (Welch) Heidt.  He married Janet K. Cripe on June 27, 1964 in Indianapolis and she survives.

William attended Indianapolis Public Schools.  He grew up in Indianapolis, moved to Hillisburg in 1967 and then to Scotland Woods in 1998.  He worked at Federal Mogul for 30 years and in heating/cooling for Davis Homes in Indianapolis for 18 years.  He retired in 2005.  William was a member of the Scotland Christian Church, Eagles Lodge, American Legion and UAW.

He is survived by his wife:  Janet Heidt of rural Kirklin, daughter:  Tina (Mike) Wells of rural Kirklin, son:  Mark (Amy) Heidt of rural Colfax, 2 sisters:  Barbara Hines of Indianapolis and Cressah Heidt of Indianapolis, 10 Grandchildren, Mark (Dawn Smith) Wells of Missouri, Crystal (John) Wessing of Missouri, Ryan (Melinda) Eli of Frankfort, Aaron (Kristin) Eli of Frankfort, Kaylea (Zach) Burlingame of Whitestown, Shane (Holly) Heidt of Fishers, Kyle (Bailey) Martin of Russiaville, Heather (Jordan Loesch) Longenberger of Michigantown, Dekota (Natasha) Kelley-Heidt of Frankfort and Tori Martin of Colfax, 17 Great Grandchildren, Jasmine Wells, of Missouri, Jocelyn Wells of Missouri, Grayson Wells of Missouri, Maggie Wessing of Missouri, Jordyn Eli of Frankfort, Cole Eli of Frankfort, Ryker Eli of Frankfort, Bryce Eli of Frankfort, Brooks Eli of Frankfort, Lilia Longenberger of Michigantown, Eve Longenberger of Michigantown, Conway Longenberger of Michigantown, Bentley Kelley-Heidt of Frankfort, Kinzleigh Brown of Frankfort, Skylar Martin of Russiaville, Hayden Heidt of Fishers, and Hudson Heidt of Fishers. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Snoopy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Jo Heidt, a brother, Charles Heidt and a great grandson, Jaxson Kelley-Heidt.

Funeral Services:

 Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, Ind.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Scotland Church.
