Willodean Mocherman

Willodean “Dean” Mocherman, 79, of Flora, joined her family in heaven on Friday, April 6, 2018.

She was born September 23, 1938, in Phil Campbell, Alabama, to Granville “Toad” Tyra and Ruby (Whitfield) Tyra Criswell.  On August 5, 1955, Dean married Russell “Lewie” Mocherman; he preceded her in death on July 27, 1989.

Dean was member of the Flora High School Class of 1955.  In addition to being a full-time mother, she sold Avon and worked at a local factory before she retired from Stephan’s IGA in Flora.  She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, loved her cat – Celina, enjoyed playing cards, working in her yard, gardening, and visiting with family and friends.  Dean will be remembered as a sweet, devoted, hard-working, upbeat social butterfly; she loved people and truly cared about them.  If you remember nothing else about our mother, Dean, please remember her smile that she shared with everyone.

Surviving Dean are her children, Cindy (James) Donald, Tina Lukis, and Becky (Pat) Amos; step-son, Dennis (Faye) Mocherman; step-daughter, Marcia (Tom) Sanelle; sisters, Betty James, Carolyn Tyra, and Bernice Gunter; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Lewie, Dean is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Granville “Bill” Tyra and JT Tyra; and grandson, Ryan.

Visitation will be held at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.  Pastor Steve Cole will officiate.  Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.  Memorials in Dean’s name may be made to ViaQuest Hospice, 726 W.
