Wilma Ann Pippenger, 91, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at her residence. She was born February 14, 1934, in Frankfort to Cleo and Stella (Snell) Brown. She married Clarence H. Pippenger, Jr., on December 1, 1972, in Frankfort. He preceded her in passing on October 14, 2016.
Wilma was a graduate of Frankfort High School, class of 1952. She worked at Mallory Timers and Bill and Dave’s Antiques. She and her husband also set up and worked flea markets, as well as being members of The Oak Dale Inn Conservation Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing, and was an avid Indiana Pacers fan. Wilma was a straight-shooter and always made sure you knew how she felt about things. She loved being around people and sharing her stories, but most of all, Wilma loved her family and making memories with them, especially her grandchildren.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Debra (Jerry Grizzle) Hatfield; grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa Fox) Hatfield, Neal (Elizabeth) Grizzle, and Kodey (Heather) Grizzle; seven great-grandchildren, stepdaughter, Mary (Junior) Ashlock; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and sisters, Norma (Tom) Stowers and Delores Studles.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Clinton Sykes; stepdaughters, Lisa Smith and Evelyn Suite; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Betty) and Charles (Connie) Brown, and Donald Snell; and sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Chet) Howe .
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2025, from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm, at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
