WILO to Broadcast Sectional Basketball from Fountain Central

WILO-AM 1570 and 96.9 FM has announced it will broadcasting the Class 2A boys’ basketball sectional tournament at Fountain Central.

On Tuesday night, Clinton Prairie will take on Delphi at 6 p.m. The Gophers bring a 19-3 record into the contest having won 17 of their last 18 games, including four in a row, following Friday night’s 52-51 victory over Western Boone. A victory against Delphi would put the Gophers into the semifinals against Covington, at 6 p.m. Friday.

Covington, coached by former Delphi head coach Adam Ballard, enters the tournament at 21-1 and handed Prairie its only loss since December with a 52-46 victory in Covington on Feb. 10.

Delphi comes into the contest at 9-13 following a 76-53 road victory over North White Friday night. The Oracles lost to Clinton Prairie 61-53 on Dec. 9.

On Wednesday night, WILO will broadcast the second game of the night as Rossville takes on host Fountain Central. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Rossville takes an 11-9 record into the sectional after losing its final two games of the regular season, including a 77-48 loss at home to West Lafayette on Friday night. Fountain Central, coached by former Frankfort head coach Jason Good, comes in at 8-14. The Mustangs last played on Feb. 20 and lost to Clinton Prairie 70-47. The winner gets either Carroll (5-16) or Seeger (14-7) in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

If either Prairie or Rossville advance, WILO will broadcast the semifinals games on Friday night beginning at 6 p.m. Once again, if either Prairie or Rossville move on, WILO will broadcast the sectional championship on Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m.

Don Stock and Karl Kercheval will be on the call for all games for WILO.

The sectional winner moves on to the Lapel Regional against the Eastbrook Sectional winner on March 10.
