Clinton and surrounding areas are bracing for expected mixed precipitation starting this afternoon. The National Weather Service says total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are expected. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. This will be a quick moving system with everything expected to be done with by mid-day Friday. Officials say plan on slippery road conditions. Rain will transition to a brief period of freezing rain and sleet before becoming all snow.
