Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Clinton County

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of central, east central, southwest and west central Indiana, including Clinton County, from 8 p.m. tonight until 8 a.m. Monday.

Snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches expected. Isolated higher amounts are possible. Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities at times.

Besides Clinton, other affected areas are Boone, Clay, Delaware, Fountain, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tipton, Vermillion and Vigo.

Any snow accumulations should melt quickly on Monday. However, thunderstorm activity and heavy rain is possible from Monday night into Tuesday evening. There is a marginal risk for severe storms on Tuesday.

Another frontal system may affect the area later this week, around Thursday into Friday night. Light rain or mixed precipitation is possible Thursday into Friday. The mixed precipitation is expected to change over to snow Friday night, with the potential for light accumulations at this time.

Forecast high on Tuesday is 64 and a forecast low on Wednesday night of 25. Temps will be in the 40s the remainder of the week.
