Zillah M. (Padgett) Pletch

Zillah M. (Padgett) Pletch of rural Frankfort went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2020.  She was born October 8, 1929 at home in Boone County to Oren LaVere and Wilma (Stephenson) Padgett.  Zillah married the love of life, Max Pletch on September 9, 1947.  They just celebrated 73 years of marriage.

Zillah graduated from Jackson Township School in 1947 and then went on to become a wonderful wife and mother.  She worked several years as the librarian at Jackson Township Elementary, during which time she directed the Jackson variety show for 7 plus years.  You could never see her without a beautiful smile and kind word.  Zillah was a member of the Antioch Congregational Church for 70 plus years.  Her faith came first and she served with a steward’s heart.  She played the piano, sang in the choir; directed the Jr. choir, was the music director for Vacation Bible School, taught Sunday School classes, and belonged to the women’s fellowship.  She was named “Homemaker of the Year” for Clinton County.  For several years, Zillah enjoyed seeing the country sitting behind Max on his Harley motorcycle.

Surviving are her husband, Max, son, Steven Pletch of Frankfort, daughter, Cynthia (Berni) Pletch of Summerfield, Florida, daughter, Nikki Malloy of Daytona Beach, Florida and daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Edmondson of Frankfort, 6 grandchildren: Shawn (Jennifer) Pletch, Curtis (Emily) Edmondson, Elizabeth (Jeff) Stankard, Brandon (Britni) Malloy, Derick Edmondson and Megan (Jacob) Smith, 11 great-grandchildren: Amilla and Aidan Pletch, Makaila and Abigail Summers, Cole, Noralee, Neilen, Ettalyn Edmondson, Maximus Malloy and Noland and Nathan Smith, 2 step-great grandchildren, Payton and Olivia Stankard and one brother, Gerald (Jeannette) Padgett.
