Zonta Club Of Frankfort Says NO To Violence Against Women This Saturday, Nov. 16

This Saturday, Nov. 16, the Zonta Club of Frankfort will walk in unity to say NO to violence against women with multiple guest speakers, a proclamation and community involvement.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Old Stoney in Frankfort this Saturday, Nov. 16.

“Violence against women and girls has long been one of the most widespread violations of human rights,” the Club released. “It knows no national or cultural barriers; it takes place at home, in the workplace and in open spaces and affects millions of women and girls in peacetime and in conflict.”

Speakers during the event will include Frankfort Police Chief Scott Shoemaker, Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly and YWCA Violence Prevention Director Ericka Lee. Following the speeches, Frankfort Mayor Judy Sheets will read a proclamation to raise awareness of the issue and continue the community’s commitment to end violence.

For those attending, a walk will follow the proclamation around the downtown block.
