Marty Brallier and Queen Elizabeth Both Have Kenya Roots

Marty Brallier, a Wesley Manor Resident, enjoys a special time with her daughter, Susan Kaspar in downtown Frankfort.  The two ladies are wearing favorite hats as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II from “across the pond”.

Marty is the same age as the Queen (96) and spent 10 years in the British Colony of Kenya in the 1950’s and early 1960’s.  Marty and her husband Cal did missionary work in the Kenya education system for 10 years and met the Queen Mother during her visit to Kenya in 1959.

As missionaries, Cal and Marty were invited to Nairobi in 1959 and were privileged to shake the Queen Mother’s hand.

Susan Kaspar, her sister Carol Griffin and brothers Steve and Michael were all born in Kenya.   Susan left Kenya Africa when she was 6 years old. Susan returned to Kenya in January 2012 when she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds with 47 other Christian women to fight human trafficking.
