Albert Ray Melton, 76, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at IU Frankfort Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1942 in Kentucky to Loid & Grace (Edwards) Melton. His lifelong companion was Gertrude (Merrell) Melton and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2003.
Ray moved to Frankfort 40 years ago from Kokomo, Ind. He worked for Cuneo Press Company in Kokomo and Indiana Brass Company in Frankfort. He was an avid member of the NRA, an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and loved cats.
Surviving family includes his Brothers: Bobby Melton and Willis Melton both of Hardyville, Kentucky; Step-Daughter: Karen (Chuck) Lucas of San Diego, CA; and Step-Granddaughter: Michele Pavey of Lafayette, IN. He was preceded in death by his companion: Gertrude and his sisters: Alma Trulock, Glenna Melton, Thelma Melton, and brother: Fred Melton.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort. Graveside services will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Green Lawn Memorial Park.
