Indiana State Police investigators have determined there were multiple vehicles that traveled southbound, on U.S. 35, prior to and immediately after a purported hit and run crash that killed Zachary Wines, 26, Walton, and Bryan Curry, 52, Valparaiso, on November 27, 2018. The crash occurred on U.S. 35 near Cass County Road 800 South.
Lead investigator, Indiana State Police Detective Brent Ingram said, “a small black or dark colored sedan (or coupe), followed by a small black or dark colored SUV, in addition to what appeared to be a Jeep Cherokee, were observed traveling southbound in the area. The Jeep Cherokee type vehicle drove out of the Walton Maramart lot prior to traveling southbound on U.S. 35, towards the crash scene, near Cass County Road 800 South.”
Ingram continued, “there were also two vehicles observed traveling northbound on U.S. 35, near the crash scene. One vehicle was a gray or silver pick-up truck (possibly a Chevrolet), which pulled into the Walton Maramart for fuel. A black or dark colored pick-up truck, with a yellow flashing light, was also observed.”
Detective Ingram would like to speak to the occupants of the described vehicles in an effort to gain information which could assist the Indiana State Police in solving the purported hit and run crash that took the lives of Zachary Wines and Bryan Curry.

Walton – Last night at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of two deceased adult males, in the roadway, on U.S. 35 north of Cass County Road 800 South.
The preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Detective Brent Ingram, and Indiana State Police crash reconstructionists, revealed that Zachary Wines, 26, Walton, and Bryan Curry, 52, Valparaiso, were found on U.S. 35, north of Cass County Road 800 South, deceased. Preliminary evidence indicates the men were struck by a northbound vehicle.
Investigators have yet to determine why Wines and Curry were in the roadway. Two vehicles, which investigators believed were driven by the deceased males, were found parked on the east side of U.S. 35, with engines running.
