At approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Chief Billy MacLaren, of the Clinton City Police Department, requested the assistance of Indiana State Police Putnamville District in reference to a death investigation of a unknown female that was located in the Wabash River near Riverside Cemetery within Clinton City limits.
Vermillion County Coroner Roger Lewis has identified the victim as 56-year-old Jeanne L. Stern of Clinton. At this time, the initial investigation is indicating there are no signs of foul play. The cause and manner of death is pending toxicology results and the review of the final autopsy report.
The investigation is ongoing.
