Doyal L. Coonrod, 83, fell asleep in death on Monday, October 16, 2017, surrounded by family.
He was born on September 22, 1934, in Forest, the youngest child of loving parents, Lantson A. Coonrod and Hattie Ellen Coonrod (McAdams). Doyal graduated from Forest High School in 1952 and later attended Manchester University in North Manchester on a basketball scholarship.
In October of 1968, Doyal dedicated his life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had firm faith in the bible’s promise of a resurrection. Doyal loved people and never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his love of Jehovah God and the bible.
In addition to his parents, Doyal is preceded in death by his siblings, Keith, Wayne, Lanty, Paul, Ruby Johnson, and Ruth Bragg.
Doyal is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Beverly; his children, Dwight, Doug (Brenda), Diana (Paul), and Deborah (Ben); nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1378 North State Road 75, Frankfort, Indiana, 46041. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the caregivers at Clinton House for their expert care and kindness to Doyal these past months. They also wish to thank all of the friends and family for their prayers, encouragement, and support in this difficult time.
