At approximately 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on Interstate 65 for a moving violation.
During the encounter, the Deputies determined the vehicle was stolen. The Deputies also found that the plate on the vehicle had been stolen, in a separate incident. The driver provided false information to the officers regarding his identity. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a small amount of Marijuana.
The driver, David Hurd, 38, of South Bend was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property, False Informing, Possession of Marijuana and Driving While Suspended. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Formal charges are pending from the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office.
