On Tuesday, November 24, watch for construction crews as they will be moving concrete barrier wall on the I-65 Wabash River Bridge. Traffic will be shifted back into the I-65 northbound permanent lanes and I-65 southbound will be shifted into the median travel lanes for the winter months. This work will occur between 9 p.m. until 8 a.m., weather permitting.
The project was awarded to Superior Construction for $23.5 million. The work also included deck replacement on Swisher Road over the interstate and replacing the decks and widening both I-65 bridges over the Wabash River. The construction on the Wabash River Bridges is scheduled to be completed in mid-June of 2021.
