William ‘Bill’ Wilson, 84, formerly of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 21, 1936 to William Danville and Ruby (Ozela) Wilson. He married Marjorie Davis in 1965; she preceded him in death on April 27, 2003.
Bill joined the United States Army when he was 17 and served from 1953-1955 during the Korean War era. He worked for more than 20 years for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2002. He was a former member of the Eagles. He and his wife, Marjorie co-owned the Red Rose Café and enjoyed playing bingo together.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Lynette Wilson (Rickey Kinnes) of Jackson, TN; sister, Mary Frances Wilson Hudson; grandchildren, Shantelle Rickenbach (Edward), William Dametre Wilson, and Micheal Wilson, seven great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dominique Wilson, three sisters, and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, Indiana. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 15 at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Rushing officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
