Steven Ray Houze, 65, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at his home. He was born June 1, 1958, in Clinton County, Indiana. He was the son of Donald Houze and Anjel (Hurt) Fickle. He married Angela; she preceded him in death.
Steven served in the Army where he was honorably discharged. He had worked for Burger King in Tennessee before moving to Frankfort. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outside, and working with his hands. Steven never met a stranger and was always helping older people and lending a hand when needed.
He is survived by his son, Steven Houze, Jr of Lafayette; daughter, Ruby Marie Houze of Kokomo; and siblings, Richard Houze of Linden, David (Kelley) Houze of Simpsonville, SC, Mark (Bonnie) Houze of Frankfort, John Fickle of Frankfort, Betty Fickle of Paoli, and Grover Fickle of Jefferson.
In addition to his parents and wife, Steven is preceded in death by a sister, Vicky Crick.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 1 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Gordon Smith will officiate the service.
