Two Carroll County K9s Vie For The Gold At The 25th Annual AWD K9 Olympics

Two Carroll County Sheriff’s Office K9s are vying for success in a stiff competition and certification trials hosted in Peru where K9s compete in a variety of events, such as obstacle courses and much more for the 25th year in a row.

Two Carroll County K9s are currently competing in the 25th Annual AWD K9 Olympics at Vohne Liche Kennels Tactical Training Center at 34 E. 6th St. in Peru throughout this week. The event kicked off on Sunday, Aug. 11 with an opening ceremony, and events and activities will continue through Friday, Aug. 16 as the K9s vie for success.

The two teams vying for gold are K9 Micky and handler Deputy Drew Yoder and K9 Hyco and Sgt. Spencer Kingery.

The AWD K9 Olympics also welcomes community members to enjoy food options and vendors set up at the training center throughout the week.
