The proceeds raised during Russell’s Rumble in honor of Russell Lawrence “Bowser” Williams on Sunday, Aug. 11 were presented to the Arc of Clinton County on Wednesday afternoon to benefit the special needs community for their annual Christmas party.
Russell’s Rumble Founder Nora Williams presented a donation of $2,330 to Arc of Clinton County Executive Director Sandra Stevenson on Wednesday to continue the legacy of her son, Russell Williams.
Russell’s Rumble was established in honor of Russell Lawrence “Bowser” Williams, 28, of Norfolk, Virginia, who was formerly a citizen of Frankfort, who was tragically killed on May 25, 2023. Due to Williams’ passion for helping children with special needs, Russell’s Rumble was established to keep his legacy alive and continue his passion “for the kids.”
On Sunday, Aug. 11, community members were invited to participate in an escorted bike ride beginning and ending at TPA Park in Frankfort to raise the funds for the Arc of Clinton County Christmas party alongside Special People Day set for Sept. 28 and the Special Needs Prom set for Oct. 5.
When presenting the donation to Stevenson, Williams remarked that the donation was dedicated to Russell as well as being “in honor of fine young men.”
Stevenson elaborated on how the support from Williams through the donation impacts those who benefit from the resources and events hosted by the Arc of Clinton County.
“The family and friends of Russell Williams has taken the tragic loss of a life and turned it into giving those with special needs in Clinton County a brighter holiday,” Stevenson said. “The Arc of Clinton County graciously thanks all who attended or donated to the Russell’s Rumble event for the donation.”
