Edward Lee Irmeger

Edward Lee Irmeger, 66, of Rossville, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital.  He was born April 19, 1958, in Lafayette, IN to Virgil and Virgie (Idle) Irmeger.

Ed was a graduate of Rossville High School, class of 1976 and then Lincoln Technical Institute with a mechanic degree.  He was jack of all trades working several jobs over his years.  He grew up working on the family farm and worked for Fairfield Contractors, SMB Concrete, Risse Builders, Landis and Gyr, SIA, and self-employed. He was of the Church of the Brethren faith.  He enjoyed playing cards, camping, mushroom hunting, playing croquet and badminton, riding motorcycles, watching Colts football, and was an avid Purdue Basketball fan.  He loved his family and enjoyed supporting his children.  Though life wasn’t always easy, Ed will be remembered for his genuine heart of giving and helping others.

Ed is survived by his children, Jeremy (Shannon) Irmeger and Megan (Justin) Clawson; sister Jean Ann (David) Brower and their children Kristine and Kyle; brother, Randy Irmeger; brother-in-law, Bill Graves and his children, Jason and Stacy; sister-in-law, Diane Irmeger and her child, Justin; grandchildren, Ivy and Von Irmeger and Owen, Caymen and Austin Clawson; the mother of his children, Kathy George.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Graves; and brother, Ron Irmeger.

Visitation would be held Thursday, August 22, from 4pm until the time of the service at 7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel.  Pastor Guy Studebaker will officiate.
