Following the closure of the Prairie Creek Park Splash Pad over the weekend, the Frankfort Parks Department stated that the crews have worked diligently this week to remedy the issues that resulted in the need for the closures.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, the Frankfort Parks Department announced that the Prairie Creek Park Splash Pad would be closed due to maintenance issues, which carried over into Sunday, Aug. 25. However, the department stated on Tuesday, Aug. 27 that the splash pad would be reopened for some of the hottest days of the summer.
We are incredibly fortunate to have some of the most dedicated employees in the city. (Monday), they went above and beyond by locating a critical part in the morning, driving to Indianapolis in the afternoon to retrieve it, and then spending 3.5 hours after regular working hours to install it.
Thanks to their hard work, our splash pad is back up and running. Your efforts are truly appreciated, and you all are amazing.
