David L. Martin, 67, of West Lafayette, Ind., died November 26, 2024, at his home. He was born October 7, 1957, in Akron, Ohio to Leroy & Jeannine (Armstrong) Martin. He married Kathy Welch on March 24, 1984, in West Lafayette and she survives.
David was a 1976 graduate of Norton High School, received his BA in mathematics and economics from Hiram College, Hiram, Ohio and his MS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University with honors from both. While at Hiram College, he played football, baseball and was inducted into the Hiram College Athletic Hall of Fame. He had lived in Norton, Ohio, before moving to Indiana to attend Purdue University. David was a software developer and had worked for Lamons Gasket LLC in Houston, TX. He had worked on U.N.O.S. logistics to improve the efficiency of organ donation. David was a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, loved sports, especially basketball, baseball and football, was a Purdue Boilermaker fan, and enjoyed all Frontier Athletics.
David is survived by his wife: Kathy Martin of West Lafayette, son: Kiel (Krystal) Martin of Pendleton, daughter: Kristen (Ben) Ramseier of College Station, TX, sister: Vicki Meekins of Tempe, AZ, and grandchildren: Jacob, Alexander, Drake, Madison and Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Armour & Mary Ruth Welch.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette, Ind.
