A community meal fundraiser will be held on Sunday, September 28, from 4–7 p.m. at The Lodge at Camp Collum, 6815 W Co Rd 200 N, Frankfort to support the Guido family.
Plates are available for $15 each, with meals including pulled pork or chicken, mac and cheese, corn, two cookies, and a drink. Carry-outs will be available with advance ticket purchases, and a limited number of walk-ins may be accepted. The final day to purchase tickets is Wednesday, September 24. To reserve a meal, call or text Tabitha at 765-894-0584.
Proceeds from the event will help the family with expenses related to hospital travel and medical supplies for two-and-a-half-year-old Addelynn, who faces multiple ongoing health challenges.
Addelynn recently underwent her second bladder surgery, called an Appendicovesicostomy, which will require her to use catheters through her belly button for the rest of her life. She has also been diagnosed with tethered cord syndrome, spina bifida occulta, clawfoot, dysphagia, chronic kidney disease stage 2, and a benign brain tumor. These conditions require regular surgeries, therapies, swallow studies, and ongoing specialist care.
Despite her medical needs, her parents, Efrain and Oliviah Guido, describe Addelynn as a sweet and loving child whose smile brings joy to everyone around her. The Guidos also share that their older daughter, Emersynn, age 3½, is full of energy and keeps the family laughing.
In September, Addelynn is scheduled to meet with a genetic specialist in hopes of identifying an underlying condition that may help connect her various diagnoses and guide more effective treatments.
The family says they are deeply grateful for the community’s support, prayers, and encouragement as they continue to provide the best care possible for their daughter.
