Dennis L. Sears, 66, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his sister’s house surrounded by his family. He was born December 26, 1959, in Frankfort, to Omer and Ramona (Tull) Sears.
Dennis was a graduate of Frankfort Senior High School, class of 1978. He worked for several jobs over his years, including dispatch for the Frankfort Police Department, Transportation Officer for the Clinton County Sherriff’s Department, Indiana State Police DOT, Frito Lay, and Security Guard for GXO in Lebanon. Dennis was a big fan of hunting, riding on his son’s golf cart, and was an avid Tony Stewart fan. He was a member of S&B Racing and was active in the demolition derby circuit and loved working on derby cars with his sons. Dennis had a servant’s heart and was glad to help others whenever he could. Above all, he was a family man, and loved making memories with them all, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Dennis is survived by his children, Darin (Corrina) Hoffman, Brittany Hoffman, Roger (Maddie) Smith, Christopher (Jaidyn) Smith, Jake (Kandra) Smith; siblings, Deb Walker and John, and Douglas (Barb) Sears; nieces and nephews, Megan (Kiel) Spencer, Brooke (Michael) Szipszky, Matt (Makayla) Sears, Aaron (Erin) Walker, Brock (Kirsten) Walker, 6 great nieces and a great nephew; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.
