Annette Gay Light, 82, of Kirklin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 13, 1935, in Cannel City, Kentucky, to Preston and Mary Jayne (Scaff) Lacy. On March 16, 1956, Annette married Ramon O. Light; he preceded her in death on January 11, 2013.
Annette graduated from West Liberty High School in Kentucky. In 1974, Annette and Ramon moved to Frankfort from Franklin, Ohio. Here, she worked at Kroger in both Frankfort and later Kokomo before retiring. In her retirement, Annette worked alongside her husband at Potato Supply before they moved to Florida in the 1990’s. For Annette, her family always came first especially her grandbabies, and she will be envied for her amazing cooking. A genuine compassionate person, Annette spread love and laughter wherever she went.
Surviving are her sons, Joe (Pam) Light, of Forest, and John Light, of Dayton; daughters, Rhonda Field, of Santa Claus, and Mona Combs, April (Glenn) Wilson, and Rhea (David) Harris, all of Kirklin; brother, Robert D. (Heva) Lacy, of Lake Wells, Fla.; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and extended her love to numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Annette is preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Daniel Combs; four sisters, and six brothers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Phillip Jordan officiating.
