A Life Of Giving: 28 Gallons Of Blood Donated

Long time Clinton County resident Ray Jean Batts died at 95.  In his lifetime, he walked thousands of miles as a Frankfort Mail Carrier, served in World War 2 and the Korean Conflict and managed to donate 28 gallons of Blood to the American Red Cross.

If Ray Jean Batts typical visit resulted in a one pint donation, in his lifetime he gave on 224 occasions.

Daughter Shirley Romney said “He loved to give”.  “He started giving when some others at work (U.S. Postal Service) decided to give together.”  Ray Jean never stopped giving and wears his 28 gallon pin today at the funeral calling at Archer Weston Funeral Home.
