Carolyn J. Robertson, 95, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Wesley Manor. She was born in Frankfort on February 13, 1929, to Noah Frank and Mary Olive (Swisher) Coulter. She married James W. Robertson on April 17, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Frankfort. She was a 1947 graduate of Frankfort High School. She worked at the Roxie Theater, Peoples Life Insurance Company, Kraft Music for 20 years, the City of Frankfort, and Wright Gas Company in Colfax until her retirement. She was a 75-year member of Frankfort First Christian Church where she was an active volunteer, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, assisted with VBS, and helped start a grief support group in the church. Carolyn was an active member of Paul Phillippe Resource Center. She also helped with a migrant children day care and Meals on Wheels. Carolyn enjoyed reading, playing cards and other games, traveling around the world, doing jigsaw puzzles, and gardening. But above all she loved her family and enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Jennifer (Doug) Slavens and Jim (Judy) Robertson; sister, Dianna (Larry) Snapp; son-in-law, James Drake; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Julie Drake; a brother, Lawrence Coulter; and sisters, Jean White and Roberta Scripture.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 1 to 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home. A private family burial was held at Bunnell Cemetery.
