The City of Frankfort presented a $100,000 check to One80 Recovery Resources, Inc. Friday morning that will be used to construct a sober-living home that will provide mental health counseling and treatment, vocational training and job replacement for men.

“It’s probably one of the most important things we’ve done in the past eight years,” said Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes. “Up to this point and time, we did not have anywhere with the exception of the Way Out Sober Living Home for the whole of the community to specifically men.”

The Way Out Sober Living Home is for women only.

One80 Recovery Resources Board Member Paul Fry said there will be 16 beds initially and plans to get to 32 in the second phase of the project. He added this facility will be for patients in Clinton County.

“The facility here in the county will be for men only,” said Pastor David Fry. “We have been contacted by leaders in other counties who have caught wind of our long term vision to have other facilities outside the county. That’s a ways ahead. We’re focused solely on Clinton County.”

Pastor Fry said if everything works out, construction will begin next year and will take five to six months to complete with the goal of being open in the second half of 2020.

“We want to see every life turned from a life that is consuming resources and is really taking life from our community and affecting families,” said Pastor Fry. “We want them to become contributors to the community and watch families come back together.”

McBarnes is confident One80 will get that goal accomplished.

“One80 Recovery will be an in-patient faith-based recovery program,” said McBarnes. “It will be unique. I believe it will lead the way in Central Indiana. This just adds a much needed prong in this city of helping those who are battling addiction. It will help our community move forward and help these individuals get back to a healthy lifestyle.”

The facility will be located near the Industrial Park.
