City Releases List of Summer Events

The city of Frankfort is announcing a collection of free concerts and events for 2021. These events are designed for all ages and interests and provide entertainment every resident can enjoy.

Frankfort Parks Department Superintendent Bart Kraning says, “The Parks Department staff have worked hard to put together an entertainment schedule that can be enjoyed by everyone in our city and the surrounding area. We are glad to have multiple options for residents to spend time together with their families, friends, and as a community. Our parks are a great option for socializing safety, being outdoors, and moving beyond the social restrictions of last year.”

Mayor Judy Sheets reiterates Kraning’s enthusiasm for this year’s entertainment line-up, saying, “I’m proud of the efforts our Parks Department staff have made to bring wonderful activities to our parks this summer. I hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to get out this summer and celebrate all that Frankfort has to offer.”

All events and activities will be conducted based on the public health guidelines in place when they occur. Summer events kick-off on Saturday, May 22, with the Grand Opening of Prairie Creek Park. Located at 260 Washington Street, the park will open at 4 p.m. to the public and feature bands Lloyd Avenue, The Warrior Kings, and Endless Summer Band, all performing on The Farmers Bank Performance Center Stage.
