The Clinton County Fair Council’s Winter Storage Program will conclude this Saturday, December 1. RVs, boats, campers, antique cars, etc. will be accepted from 8-10 a.m.
Clinton County Fair Council Chairman Jamie Blacker points out: “There may be space available for up to 18 units in Clinton Hall and the Livestock Show Arena.”
Reservations are not accepted. It’s all first come, first served.
The program follows international rules as far as storing fuels. They are:
Liquid or gas fueled vehicles, boats or other motor craft shall not be located indoors except as follows:
- Batteries are disconnected.
- Fuel in fuel tanks does not exceed one-quarter-tank, or 5 gallons (19 L) (whichever is least).
- Fuel tanks and fill openings are closed and sealed to prevent tampering.
- Vehicles, boats or other motor craft equipment are not fueled or defueled within the building.
Also, Blacker asks owners to: “Empty all water and waste tanks before placing their units in storage.”
The lease rate is easy to calculate. $10.00 per foot measured from front to back. Blacker says,
Winter Storage traffic will be directed to Gate 4. That’s the gate just south of the merging of Clay Street, Alhambra Avenue, and just south of the power substation. Participants will move onto the practice track, turning right and proceeding counter-clockwise around the track to the 4-H Community Building where registration will take place. Photographs will be taken of each stored vehicle.
All units in Winter Storage are to be removed on March 23, 2019 to accommodate new business.
