The Clinton County Fair is gearing up for a scaled down version this year in the era of Covid-19. Jamie Blacker is Fair Council President and says they have tried to think of everything to make sure everything is done to satisfaction without incident. He says they “have to get it right”. Blacker says the grandstands will still be utilized but on a limited basis. He says bring a few lawn chairs and blankets so you can watch some of the events from grassy areas they will have set aside for spectators.
Officials say they are trying not to put too many limitations on fair goers. They say if you want to wear a mask that is fine and said they understand if you choose not to come at all this year.
The Clinton County Fair is focusing on 150 years of Harness Racing at the fairgrounds. Races will be Tuesday and Wednesday night. They said they could have the potential of 20 races per night. The Clinton County Fair starts officially this Friday with the Queen Contest at 7 pm.
One of the highlights of this year’s Clinton County Fair is popular with spectators-that is the Bear Hollow Wood Carver. They will be auctioning them off Saturday night at the fairgrounds between 8:30 and 9.
