The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of north central, northeast and east central Indiana, including Clinton County, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Northeasterly winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Strongest winds are expected from 4-8 p.m.
Besides Clinton, other affected areas are Boone, Carroll, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Howard, Madison, Randolph, Rush, Tippecanoe, Tipton and Warren counties.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or winds gusts of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
