Clinton Prairie School Corporation Has Opportunity to Win Special $5,000 Grant from CF Industries

CF Industries is offering school districts where its distribution terminals are located, which includes the Clinton Prairie School Corporation, the opportunity to win a $5,000 grant. The special grant marks a milestone for CF’s Classroom Minigrant Program – the one
millionth dollar contributed to local educators through a program whose minigrants average approximately $300.
Starting Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, community members can vote at www.cfindustries.com/minigrant for their school district to win a $5,000 grant that will include the official millionth minigrant dollar donated by CF’s Classroom Minigrant program. Four runner-up districts will receive $1,250 each.
“We’re celebrating both the Classroom Minigrant Program’s millionth dollar donated and the incredible ways our teachers use the minigrants to give students a unique learning experience,” said Eric Bledsoe, Superintendent of CF Industries’ Frankfort Terminal. “Helping local teachers bring new and exciting opportunities focused on agriculture and the environment to the classroom has been one of our best investments.”
For nearly 20 years, CF has awarded minigrants to educators who find innovative ways to incorporate agriculture or the environment into classroom projects, with priority placed on projects that focus on water quality education. The grants average around $300 each, with larger grants awarded to projects that involve multiple classes or a large group of students.
Recent minigrants awarded to educators from Clinton Prairie schools include projects to:
 Learn about the life -cycle of insects and woodland animals;
 Use STEM learning kits to gain knowledge about scientific principles; and
 Explore the animal life around them through technology.
Voting will run from November 1 through November 15 at www.cfindustries.com/minigrant. The winningschool district will be announced on November 16 during American Education Week on CF’s social media platforms (www.facebook.com/cfindustries and www.twitter.com/cfindustries).
