The Russiaville Summer Fest will be held May 31 through June 2 in downtown Russiaville. Half price pre-sale tickets are on sale at Martin’s Hardware in Russiaville until May 30 at 12 p.m. It’s $20 for 40 tickets. Join them for carnival rides, games, pancake breakfast, 5K, Carl Koontz Memorial Poker Run, parade, garden tractor pull, petting zoo, activities, entertainment and great food. St. Matthew United Methodist Church will be offering a casual outdoor service on Sunday mornings in June and July at 11 a.m. Come in your shorts and flip-flops, or whatever is comfortable, and join them in the west courtyard for fellowship, prayer, scripture and a life message. The First Annual Touch-A-Truck event will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at the Frankfort High School parking lot. There will be 15 community vehicles for the entire family to enjoy, explore, climb and learn about the vehicles and personnel that protect, serve and build the community.

 

Join the Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District and the South Fork Wildcat Stewardship Initiative on Monday, June 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Skanta Theatre at the Frankfort Community Public Library to hear a special presentation by Cassie Hauswald, Freshwater Ecologist, The Nature Conservancy. She will be focusing on a project to measure water quality improvements in tributaries of the Upper Wabash River, including the South Fork of Wildcat Creek, using freshwater mussels. The Indiana Department of Transportation is having a public hearing on Thursday, June 6, at 6 p.m. at Rossville High School. The purpose of the hearing is to offer all interested person an opportunity to comment on current design plans for the proposed road rehabilitation on State Road 26 from approximately Rossville to Russiaville (half-mile east of U.S. 421 to two miles west of Russiaville). In addition, the project is proposing an intersection improvement at Sate Road 26 and State Road 75. For more information, call 855-463-6848.

 

The Mulberry Community Club is sponsoring a Chicken and Pork Chop BBQ will be held Saturday, June 8, from 4:30-7 p.m. at Mulberry Community Park. Advanced sale tickets are available. Half chicken is $8 and two pork chops is $8. Both includes baked beans, slaw or applesauce, bread and butter, chips and drink. Dessert is $1 extra. Staff members from the Office of Indiana Attorney General will be at the Frankfort Community Public Library on Monday, June 10, from 3-4:30 p.m. for mobile office hours.

 

The Clinton County Immunization Clinic will have walk-in hours for children ages infant through ages 18 who are uninsured or on Medicaid on Wednesday, June 12, and Wednesday, July 24, from 1-7 p.m. at the Clinic, room 3054 at IU Health Frankfort Hospital. The clinic will be closed June 18 and 20 as well as July 30 and August 1.

 

IU Health Frankfort, 1300 S. Jackson St., is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 7. Donors of all blood types, especially type O, are urged to make an appointment to donate using the Blood Donor App, at RedCrossBlood,org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

 

Kick Off for The Club Teen Center will be 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at the Boys and Girls Club of Clinton County, 1100 W. Green St., Frankfort. The club is a safe place for 6th-12th grade students to come after hours to hang out. Their Teen Center will be open 6-9 p.m. different evenings throughout the week. While there, teens will have access to the gym, rec equipment, TVs, charging stations and Wi-Fi.

 

Steven Frank of the Central Indiana DNA Interest Group will give a workshop entitled, “Getting the Most from AncestryDNA” at the Frankfort Community Public Library on Saturday, June 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Room. Registration for the Bales Strong 5K Fun Run is now open. The event, sponsored by the Frankfort Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, will be held Saturday, July 13. Registration starts at 7 a.m, and race begins at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $30. All proceeds for this 5K Fun Run/Walk will be donated to Officer Rob Bales.
