County Presents $50,000 Check To One80 Recovery Resources

$50,000 from Clinton County was deposited into the One80 Recovery Resources account at The Farmers Bank this morning.  The check was presented in a brief exchange on the south side of the Clinton County Courthouse Friday morning.

One80 Recovery Resources is a 501 C-3 Non-Profit corporation building a sober living home in the industrial park on the west side of Frankfort.  Ground-breaking for the facility is planned for March 2020. If final grants come through as expected, the facility can open by September or October with occupancy hoped to take place by December 2020.

The new facility will have 16 beds and offer mental health counseling, treatment, vocational training and job replacement for men. The Way Out Sober living home for Women is already functional in Clinton County.

Treasurer of One 80 Recovery Resources Larry Glass said, ”We so much appreciate (the County Check) and foresight in looking ahead for what One80 Resources will be able to do for the men of this county and for those that are trapped into drugs and alcohol.” “One of our hopes is that through this program we will be able to reunite families.  A lot of times because of drugs and alcohol and other things families split up and there are trust issues there.  We are hoping through our programs, we will be able to reunite the families by the time the person gets ready to graduate.”

Clinton County Council President Alan Dunn said “Today we made an investment in Clinton County.  We did not spend money, we invested money because we, as a county, are spending money whether it is in a check like we did to One 80 Recovery today or money going to jail cost, incarceration cost, community corrections, those things.  People who get in the web of opioid addiction end up doing bad things and the county has to incure a lot of expense to deal with the results of those bad things, so if we can make a smart investment like this that helps prevent those bad things from happening and get somebody on the road to recovery, it is money well spent for the county.”
