Delphi Lions Club to Host 32nd Independence Day Parade on July 4

The Delphi Lions Club will host the 32nd Delphi Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 10 a.m. EST.

This year’s parade celebrates a major milestone as the nation marks its 250th birthday, with the theme “Celebrating 250 Years of the American Dream.”

The parade is sponsored by the Delphi Lions Club and the City of Delphi.

Registration for participants will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the P&R parking area, located at 1100 N. Washington Street. Entry is free, and no pre-registration is required. Parade organizers will be on site to assist with registration and lineup.

The parade route will begin at the P&R parking area, proceed south on Washington Street to Monroe Street, turn west for one block to Market Street, then continue east on Franklin Street past the reviewing stand before disbanding. The event is expected to last approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

Participants are encouraged to enter floats, classic cars, tractors, walking groups, and other themed displays. Cash prizes will be awarded in multiple categories, including floats, vehicles, tractors, animal entries, and walking groups.

Entries will be judged on creativity, crowd appeal, and theme presentation. Winners will be announced at the reviewing stand.

A memorial service will also be held at 10 a.m. on the north side of the courthouse, featuring members of the Camden and Delphi American Legion and VFW posts, along with an honor guard, rifle corps, and taps.

Grand marshals for the 2026 parade are Brian and Amy Tonsoini.

The Delphi Lions Club encourages individuals, families, churches, neighborhoods, and businesses to participate and help make this year’s celebration the largest yet.
