On Monday, September 28, a Deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on I-65 for a moving violation. During the course of his investigation, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana, an illegal firearm and several controlled substances (pills).
Arrested was 35-year-old Natasha Tandy of Evansville. She was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Handgun Without a License.
Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly said, “I am very proud of the results our Deputies are generating every day. We don’t have that crystal ball to determine what we prevented by taking drugs and guns off our roadways, but I rest easier knowing that gun no longer has the potential to kill someone tonight. This vehicle could have very easily been destined for Frankfort, Michigantown, Rossville or Kirklin, we may never know. Thank you to our officers for putting their training and skills to work today, and every day, and for taking dangerous items off our roadways.”
Official charges are pending from the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office.
