FHS Girls’ Tennis Start Season at 4-0

The Frankfort High School girls’ tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 3-2 victory over Western Tuesday afternoon in Frankfort.

Riley Isgrigg won the lone singles match for Frankfort, while the doubles teams of Abby Pierce and Rylo Seibert were victorious as was the doubles tandem of Jaylynn Kidwell and Rebecca Perez.

On Monday, Frankfort defeated Twin Lakes 4-1. Emily Michael and Isgrigg won singles matches, while the doubles team of Pierce-Seibert and Kidwell-Perez were also victorious.

In track, the Frankfort girls won a triangular meet against North Montgomery and Tri-West, while the boys finished second against the same two teams.

Winners for Frankfort in the meet were Nallely Alanis in the 100 meter hurdles, Carina Alanis in the 1,600, Christina Espidio in the 800, Blazia Sallee in the 3,200, Kenya Garcia in the discus and Ella Myers in the shot put. Winners for the boys were Manny Garcia in the 100, Hugo Hernandez in the 1,600 and 3,200 and Joe Diaz in the 400.

In baseball, Frankfort overcame a five-run deficit to defeat Danville 12-6 Thursday night. Christian Lopez earned the win on the mound and led the offense with four hits and four RBIs. On Tuesday, Frankfort lost 10-4 to Danville. Braden Compton led the offense with a couple of RBIs.

In softball, Frankfort dropped a pair of 11-1 decision to Danville on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

In boys’ golf, Frankfort finished 13th out of 17 teams in the Twin Lakes Invitational on Saturday. Sascha Pirch led the Hot Dogs with an 83, His score along with Drew Grismer 97, Camden Cesare 102 and Nolan Varner 106 combined for a 390 team score. Sam Wilson carded a 112. Peru won the tourney with a score of 322 and Nic Hoffman of Harrison was medalist at 77.

On Tuesday, Frankfort defeated Western Boone 185 to 202 in a dual meet at the Frankfort Commons. Pirch led the Hot Dogs with a 40, followed by Wilson 46, Grismer 47 and Varner 52. Cesare rounded out the varsity scoring with a 54.

Frankfort opened the season on April 6 by finishing 12th in the 16-team Harrison Invitational. Pirch led the way with an 85.
