FHS Girls’ Track Team Takes Third in Sagamore Meet

Frankfort finished third in the girls’ track meet, while the boys placed fifth at the Sagamore Conference meet Friday night in Danville.

The girls had 78 points to edge out North Montgomery and Danville for third. The boys wound up with 67.5 points. Lebanon won the girls meet with 190 points and Danville took the boys’ title with 166.

Top finishers for the girls included Kenya Garcia (second in discus and sixth in shot put), Lorena Perez (second in high jump and third in long jump), Carina Alanis (third in 1,600 and 3,200, fourth in 800, Mia Hernandez (fourth in shot put), Maicee Sterrett (second in 100 hurdles and fifth in 100 meters), and Alexis Reed Gill (seventh in 300 hurdles). Three relays also placed. The 4×100 relay of Sterrett, Hernandez, Payton Dubree and Peyton Myers finished fourth, the 4×400 relay of Reed-Gill, Alanis, Hernandez and Dubree was fifth and the 4×800 relay of Celeste Rodriguez, Abril Hernandez-Jimenez, Emilee Shipley and Evelyn Garcia placed seventh.

Best finishes on the boys side included Sam Michael (third in 100), Angel Perez (third in 800), Kyle Earl (third in shot put and sixth in discus), Mauro Lopez-Carrillo (fourth in the 400), Edwin Wainscott (fourth in pole vault), Aidan Hudspith (fifth in pole vault), Michael Hernandez Cautecatl (sixth in 300 hurdles), Logann Wills (fourth in long jump and sixth in high jump), Josue Bautista Ventura (eighth in 1,600 and 3,200), Garek Birge (eighth in 300 hurdles), Jacob Craig (ninth in 400), Ivan Salazar (ninth in 800), and Daniel Pritchett (ninth in 3,200). In the relays, the 4×100 relay of Wills, Andric Mullinax, Jakob Burns and Michael was third, the 4×800 relay of Jordan Henderson, Alex Lopez, Marco Reyes and Salazar took fifth and the 4×400 relay of Hernandez Cautecatl, Perez, Craig and Lopez-Carrillo placed sixth.

Hot Dogs Down Western Boone

Conner Boone had three hits and Brayan Valdez pitched six innings of four-hit ball as Frankfort defeated Western Boone 7-1.

On Senior Night, Frankfort fell to Western Boone 6-3. Those honored were managers Ally Timmons and Zury Valdez, along with Hunter Seward, Jimmy Ostler, Max Moudy, Jade Ayers and Antonio Alaniz.

Softball Falls to Western Boone

Heather Massengill had two hits for Frankfort in a 5-2 loss Thursday to Western Boone. Zoey Westerman, Karim Quinones, Katie Roberts, Makayla Harper and Kylie Wainscott each had a hit for FHS.

Earlier in the week, Frankfort fell to Delphi 10-5. FHS had six hits in the game. Autumn Bower, Hailey Cook, Massengill, Quinones, Roberts and Westerman all had one hit each.

Golfers Take Second in Triangular

On Senior Recognition Night on Thursday, the Hot Dogs took second to Clinton Central at the Commons. Central won the meet with 195. Frankfort took second at 206 while Delphi was third at 226. Delphi’s Cade Nelson took medalist honors with a 41.

Dakota Bailey and Ramsey Mitchell led FHS with 50s. Reece Mitchell had 51 and Mason O’Brien had 55.
