Frankfort Female Arrested for Meth

At approximately 10:48 p.m. Thursday, the Frankfort Police Department Narcotics Unit and Patrol Division arrested 46-year-old Tonya Covey of Frankfort. The arrest was a result of an investigation by detectives. Covey was out on bond from a methamphetamine dealing arrest by FPD detectives in May of 2022. A jury trial for that case is scheduled in September 2023.

Covey was officially charged for last night’s incident today, May 26, 2023. Her new charges:

Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 3 Felony
Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 5 Felony

“There has been a large increase in methamphetamine related arrests,” stated Chief Scott Shoemaker. “If you are reading this and are using methamphetamine, please seek help and prevent yourself from being the next arrest we make.”
