The Frankfort High School girls’ swimming team got their first victory of the season by winning a triangular meet with Crawfordsville and Danville Thursday night. FHS would up with 83 points, Crawfordsville was next with 64 and Danville had 3.
The FHS boys took second in the triangular meet. Crawfordsville had 126 points, FHS had 54 and Danville 6.

FHS Wrestlers Improve to 14-3
Frankfort traveled to Crawfordsville Thursday night for their first action of the new year. They added dual meet wins against Fountain Central 66-15 and 69-6 over Crawfordsville.
Central has two champions at 12-team tournament
Clinton Central freshman Alex Schultz placed first in the 113 weight class and sophomore Jacob Albaugh won the 182 championship in the 12-team Maconaquah Invitational on Saturday. As a team, the Bulldogs placed fourth with 166 points. Host Maconaquah won the event with 278 points followed by Triton Central at 215.5 and South Side at 183.
Central Swimming
The boys’ varsity swim team moved to 10-1 by beating Delphi 74-23 Thursday night. Winners for Central were Ashton Albaugh, Owen Smith, Erik McCarty and Blake Mosbaugh in both the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay, John Dunn in the 200 and 500 free, Smith in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, McCarty in the 50 free and 100 fly, Mosbaugh in the 100 free, Conner Tarkington in diving, Albaugh in the 100 backstroke, and Colton Payne, Wreese Sheets, Dunn and Mosbaugh in the 400 free relay.
Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs defeated Northwestern 57-44 and lost their first meet of the year to Tipton 99-77.
The girls’ swim team defeated Delphi 77-25 Thursday night. The girls had 21 personal bests. Winners were Kailie Burnette, Isabelle Hendrickson, Macie McQuinn and Grace Atkisson in the 200 medley relay, Raelyn Albaugh in the 200 free, McQuinn in the 200 IM and the 100 fly, Hendrickson in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke, Burnette in the 100 free and 100 backstroke, the 200 free relay team of Ava Schimmel, AQtkisson, McQuinn and Hendrickson and the 400 free relay team of Carly Ellis, Albaugh, Elayna Faulkner and Burnette.
Earlier in the week, the girls lost their first meet of the season to Northwestern 58-44 and defeated Tipton 97-89.
Central Girls’ Basketball
Fountain Central defeated Clinton Central 42-33 Wednesday night in Veedersburg. Allison Robbins led in scoring with 13 points. Kendall Davison led the team in rebounds with 13.
The night before in Covington, Davison had her first triple double with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists as Central defeated Covington 64-48. Robbins had 17 points and Sam Adams finished with 11.
Rossville Girls Edge Covington
Emma Lawson had 10 points, while teammates Kennedy Houser, Corryn Geheb and Avery Gobett each had six as Rossville defeated 37-36 Saturday in Covington. Trailing 21-12 at halftime, Rossville outscored the home club 17-3 in the third period and then hung on for the win.
Thursday night in Rossville, Gobett had 12 points and six rebounds in a 57-40 loss to Taylor. . Madison Miller was next with nine points.
