The Frankfort Community Public Library has announced the schedule for its Friends of the Frankfort Library Concert Series for 2017-2018.
Lifelong Learning Coordinator Jamie Anderson said this will be the 25th year of the series and will open on Saturday, November 18, with Matthew Ball, also known as The Boogie Woogie Kid.
“He actually used to be a lawyer and he decided to try out some swing music,” said Anderson. “He’ll be on the piano. He plays everything from ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’ to ‘When the Saints on Marchin’ In’ to ‘Over the Rainbow.'”
The second concert will feature the Big Swing Band on Saturday, January 20.
“You may want to get out of your chair and start dancing,” said Anderson.
The third and final concert will feature the Will Scott Trio on Saturday, March 10. Their music can be described as Soul-Americana and Hill Country Blues. After many exciting and successful years based in New York, Scott moved his home base to his native hometown of Indianapolis.
Anderson said season tickets are now on sale. They are $30 for all three concerts and will be available for purchase until November 19. Individual tickets for concerts are $12 each.
Sponsors for the series are The Farmers Bank, Wilda & Allen A. Appleton Memorial Fund, Bailey Trucking, Inc., Norman Eyecare, LTD, and Encompass Credit Union.
