Frankfort Man Dies in Clinton County Crash

At approximately 1:06 a.m. Wednesday, Deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a disabled vehicle in the area of County Road 300N and 700E. Upon arrival, Deputies located a Gray 2005 Dodge Neon, well off the roadway, crashed into a tree.

Preliminary investigation showed V1 was traveling eastbound on County Road 300N. For an unknown reason, V1 left the south side of the roadway, west of County Road 700E. V1 overcorrected and went off the road to the north, where it traveled approximately 300 feet into a field and struck a tree head on.

The driver was identified as Caylen Reed, 21, of Frankfort. Reed was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology results are pending. This crash remains under investigation.
