PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division Monday announced plans to invest an additional $70 million in the Frankfort plant, enhancing current operations by adding a new snack line and expanding a warehouse that is expected to provide 45 new jobs.
Mayor Chris McBarnes welcomes this expansion saying, “Frito-Lay’s continued financial investment in Frankfort, and their desire to create more jobs in our community, reflects a dedication to growth and success while strengthening our local economy. Frankfort is committed to cultivating a pro-growth, business-friendly environment so that companies like Frito-Lay can continue moving their business forward.”
Frito-Lay, the largest producer of snack foods in the U.S. with more than 30 manufacturing facilities, is a subsidiary of PepsiCo, one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies.
Frito-Lay has had a presence in the Frankfort community for more than 30 years, employing more than 1,100 full-time associates. With its two manufacturing site locations in Frankfort, Frito-Lay operates 17 snack production lines and sits across 135 acres.
