Following the appearance of two of the playwrights of the renowned trio Jones Hope Wooten at the Saturday, May 4 performance of Clinton County Civic Theatre’s “Lickety Split: Women and Men in Outrageous Shorts,” the playwrights presented a donation to the Humane Society of Clinton County to help the organization continue its efforts.

Jessie Jones and Jamie Wooten, two playwrights that helped form Jones Hope Wooten Comedies, attended the Saturday rendition of their own play “Lickety Split” performed by the Clinton County Civic Theatre. Jones and Wooten elected to continue their support for the Clinton County community with a donation to the Humane Society through “The Nicholas Hope is Here for the Animals Fund.” Hope acted as the third member of the Jones Hope Wooten, and the fund was begun after Hope passed away in September 2023 to continue his legacy.

“Over the weekend, we were honored to receive a generous donation in memory of Nicholas Hope from ‘The Nicholas Hope is Here for the Animals Fund’ and Jones Hope Wooten Comedies,” the Humane Society released. “Thank you to playwrights Jessie Jones and Jamie Wooten for their generosity in choosing to help the animals in our community.”

Jones and Wooten were engaged in the Clinton County community from the moment the curtain opened for their first viewing of their play “Lickety Split” that sparked their outreach in the Clinton County community to continue supporting a smaller city which supports the arts.

“Supporting theatre communities is what we do,” Jones and Wooten released. “This weekend, we attended Clinton County Civic Theatre’s fabulous production of Lcikety Split – Women & Men in Outrageous Shorts in Frankfort, Indiana.”

The funds donated for the Humane Society will aid in the continued efforts of the staff and board to provide the best quality of life for all animals in the county regardless of whether the shelter has reached capacity for dogs as the Humane Society reported recently.

Interested foster or adoption families may contact the Humane Society of Clinton County to get involved by emailing [email protected] or calling the shelter at 765-670-7924 and selecting prompt 2.

Interested parties may foster a dog on the road to adoption or just act as a foster family until a forever home can be found. During the fostering period, the Humane Society will provide all medical needs that the foster puppy may have at that time.
