Kent LeBeau

Kent LeBeau, 71, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home.  He was born in Lafayette, on February 8, 1950, to Donald and Rosella (Burns) LeBeau. He married Sherry Reinke, on July 10, 1993, in Kokomo; she survives.

Kent graduated from Wolcott High School in 1968, Butler University in 1972 where he played baseball for four years, then graduated from Purdue University with a Master’s Degree. He had been a teacher for many years teaching at Frontier, North White, Rensselaer, Northwestern, Twin Lakes then retiring from Tri-County High School in 2015. His kind, gentle spirit touched many lives through his 43 years of teaching and coaching. He was loved by all who knew him. Kent was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. He had a love for sports, bird watching, and helping his dad and brother on the family farm, but he was happiest spending time with his family.

Kent is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughters, Jessie (Riley) Benner of Noblesville and Kristie LeBeau of Ithaca, NY; brothers, Craig (Sandy) LeBeau of Wolcott and Curt (Kathy) LeBeau of Hartland, WI; sisters, Coleen LeBeau of West Lafayette and Clarice (Rusty) Good of Mulberry; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church 543 S. Main St. Monticello, Indiana. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church with Father David Hellmann officiating. A livestream of the service will be available online at www.gendafuneralhome.com for those who would like to join virtually. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Remington, Indiana. Memorial contributions in Kent’s honor may be made to the National Audubon Society or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
