Letter to community contributor: Benni Weldy
Another year has come and gone. We have wrapped up our annual Kirklin Santa tour. We have been blessed to have such dedicated members to this department and their families, especially working most of the day to get our fleet decked out and ready to escort Santa and Mrs Claus. A huge thanks to our Kirklin Town Marshall Antitra and Reserve Marshall Brandon Garber and his family for leading our parade through the streets of Kirklin. We were also blessed not only to share this event with our KFD families but had some wonderful surprise guests Along for the night was the wife our lost brother Merle Weber who never misses a Santa tour. This year we even let Donna Weber ride inside a truck so she stayed warm, If you were able to see the parade you might have noticed our grass rig was decked out in red white and blue. We were honored to have it occupied by Veteran Curtis Townsend who is one our our current active members and a suprise guest – Dakota Stough a member with is currently serving this great country and is deployed out in Washington State. We are so honored to have this truck dedicated to all of our active military personnel and veterans. Please continue to pray for this great nation and those that serve to protect it. Thank you for coming out and joining us Dakoda. We have missed you. Safe travels back west. We also had a huge surprise from a visit of two former members who now reside in Idaho. Captain Eric and Katie Clayton. Eric now serves on his new community’s department in Idaho and we are proud of his accomplishments out there and rising up their leadership ladder. But his greatest accomplishment was also present as we were able to introduce Ellie his one year old daughter to Santa and his Firefighter Elves. Also a special thanks to Kenny Harvey and Alicia Woodruff for arranging the visit from Santa and Mrs Claus. To the Kirklin Community, Kirklin, Sugar Creek, and Clinton Township and Boone County; Thank you for your continued support. We at KFD WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR. Enjoy the Video from Erick Dircks and a couple pictures from the KFD Fire Department.
