More than 9,000 Frankfort Municipal Utilities customers were without power for around three hours Thursday afternoon due to a lightning arrester that went out in one of the City, Light and Power substations and went ahead and took out power to another substation, according to Utility Service Board General Manager Todd Corrie.
The large power outage occurred shortly before 3 p.m. and lasted until 5:30 to 5:35 p.m. Corrie said everybody in the city is back on and added the one substation is still out and will be fixed Friday.
