The Michigantown Lucas Fire and Safety 10u team prevailed as champions after a hard fought weekend in the end of season tournament, hosted in Thorntown.
The Lucas Fire team headed in to the weekend with an impressive 11-0 record. They easily won their way into Saturday where they beat a very tough Frankfort team in extra innings. They then headed into Sunday and lost a very tough game to Western Boone’s team CASI.
Lucas Fire and Safety then had to battle their own Michigantown’s Alderson Companies team, winning their way back into the championship game where they had a rematch with team CASI, who sent them into the loser’s bracket.
Lucas Fire came looking for redemption and downed team CASI 22-7, leading them into the if necessary game due the tournament being a double elimination bracket.
Lucas Fire and Safety entered the winner takes all game and easily cruises to a 9-1 victory, taking the championship. Lucas Fire and Safety ends their regular season as Champions with an astounding 17-1 record, possibly the best season record a Michigantown team has ever had.
